NBA Summer League Update ? July 10

Lacy and Railey wrapped up Summer League play.

PULLMAN, Wash. – Two former Washington State men's basketball student-athletes wrapped up 2015 NBA Summer League action, DaVonté Lacy with the Indiana Pacers and Jordan Railey with the Philadelphia 76ers, while Brock Motum has more games to play with the Utah Jazz in the NBA Las Vegas Summer League.

The Southwest Airlines Orlando Pro Summer League wrapped up Friday, July 10, after starting Saturday, July 4. Lacy's Pacers went 1-4, with their long win coming by the score of 91-85 over Orlando's Blue squad, July 9. Lacy didn't play the team's second game of league play, but averaged 30 minutes played per game in the Pacer's final two games of the league, playing 36 in the finale, July 10. In four games Lacy averaged 3.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 19.8 minutes per game. He scored 6 points in each of his final two games, adding three rebounds in the team's win July 9.

The 2015 Utah Jazz Summer League wrapped up July 9, as Railey's Sixers team went 1-2. They opened the league with a 74-71 loss to the San Antonio Spurs, July 6. Philadelphia followed it up with a 76-62 win over the Boston Celtics (July 7) and an overtime loss to Motum's Utah Jazz, 74-71, July 9. Railey played a total of 15 minutes in the three games, averaging 1.7 points and 0.7 rebounds a game in 5.0 minutes per outing. In his first game, he scored 3 points, followed by 2 points and 2 assists in his second game, the victory over Boston.

For the third-straight year, Motum is playing in the NBA Summer League and for the second-straight year, he's playing with the Utah Jazz. The Jazz hosted the 2015 Utah Jazz Summer League and won their opening game, 100-82 over the Celtics, Monday, July 6. Motum played 23 minutes for the Jazz, scoring 4 points while adding 8 rebounds and 3 assists. The Jazz followed with victories over the San Antonio Spurs (72-70), July 7 and Railey's Sixers (84-78), July 9, finishing the Utah Summer League with a perfect 3-0 mark. Motum started the final 2 games and averaged 21.0 minutes played per game. He averaged 7.3 points and 5.0 rebounds a game, adding 0.7 blocks and 1.7 assists. Motuom's best scoring output came July 7 against the Spurs with 10 points, while he had 8 rebounds and 3 assists in the league opener, July 6 against Boston.

Motum will go on to compete in the Las Vegas Summer League which kicks off July 10, with the Jazz's first game coming Saturday, July 11 at 7:30 PT against the Miami Heat.

Lacy graduated from Washington State in May of 2015 following a four-year career where he became the school's all-time career 3-point leader, bettering Klay Thompson's record set in 2011. Lacy finished his career with 249 career 3-pointers made. A first team All-Pac-12 honoree in 2014-15 and honorable mention selection in 2013-14, Lacy finished his career with 1,548 career points, fifth-best on WSU's career scoring list. He started 106 of the 116 games he played in over his career and was the only Cougar to start all 31 games in 2014-15.

Railey graduated from Washington State in May of 2015 following a two-year career as a Cougar after transferring from Iowa State. In two seasons, the 7-foot center moved into 16th on WSU's career list for blocks with 62. He started 47 of the 62 games he appeared in, averaging 4.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game.

Motum ranks sixth in WSU's career record books with 1,530 points scored in four seasons (2010-13). He led the Cougars and the Pac-12 in scoring two-straight seasons with 18.0 points per game in 2011-12 and 18.7 ppg in 2012-13. At the conclusion of the 2012 season, he was named the league's most improved player while earning first team all-conference honors. He was named All-Pac-12 Second Team in 2013.
