SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Washington State swimming team lost its final dual meet of the season Saturday to Utah, with the final score of 163-99.
The Cougar relay team of Emma Johansson, Anne Kenney, Alison Mand, and Nicole Proulx opened the meet with a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:47.35). To conclude the meet, Johansson, Haley Rose Love, Mand, and Proulx notched another second-place finish in the 200 free relay.
Freshman Elise Locke was the first Cougar to win an event Saturday. She finished the 200 fly with a time of 2:05.90, which was good enough for first place and nine points.
The next event was the 50 free, which was championed by Johansson. The Cougar senior finished the sprint with a time of 24.29 seconds, claiming first place.
With the loss, Washington State fell to 3-6 in dual meets for the season.
The next competition for the Cougars will be the Pac-12 Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. The championships will be contested Feb. 26th–March 1st in Federal Way, Wash.
