Washington State Blows Past Seattle

SEATTLE, Wash. – The Washington State swimming team dominated Seattle in a dual meet Friday with a final score of 176-80. The victory was the second in straight for the Cougars.

The Cougars won nine out of 12 individual events and both relays on their way to victory. The relay team of Emma Johansson, Frederikke Hall, Alison Mand, and Haley Rose Love won the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:51.18 to open the meet. On the back end of the contest, Anne Kenney, Love, Johansson, and Nicole Proulx claimed first place in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:35.83.

Freshman Elise Locke continued her dominance for the Cougars, winning two events individually. Locke won the 1000 free (10:29.72) and the 200 fly (2:04.09).

Seven other Cougars joined Locke as first-place finishers in individual events. Johansson, Hall, Love, Proulx, Loree Olson, Emma Ronczkowski, and Mand championed one event each in the Cougars' route of Seattle.

The next competition for the Washington State swimming team is the Hawkeye Invitational. The contest is scheduled for Dec. 6-8 in Iowa City, Iowa.
