Cougar Swimming Downed by USC

LOS ANGELES - The Washington State University swimming team completed its road trip with a 137-58 loss at USC, Saturday.

The Trojans posted the fastest time in each of the 11 events. Nicole Proulx recorded the best finish for the Cougars with a second place showing (59.17) in the 100 meter freestyle.

USC took the top two spots in the 400 meter medley relay before sweeping the top three positions in the 800 meter and 200 freestyle, respectively, to seize control of the meet.

Emma Johansson and Jenna Bekker picked up third and fourth place points in the 50 meter freestyle while Johansson and Kelsey Bruggman did the same in the 100 meter butterfly.

The Cougars (2-5) return home to face Northern Arizona, Friday, Nov. 9 beginning at 5 p.m. in Gibb Pool.
