Boise State's final drive ended on a Hendricks' fumble.

Hendricks had hit a diving Lou Fanucchi on a 12-yard touchdown pass, then connected with Shay Swan for a 2-point conversion to tie it at 35 with 7:19 left.

    Gesser's 2-yard scramble tied it at 7.

Hendricks hit Robby Snelling on a 53-yard pass on the next series to give Boise State a 14-7 lead.

Anousith Wilaikul kicked field goals of 38 and 22 yards on consecutive series to cut Boise State's lead to 14-13 with 3:45 left in the half.

Washington State drove 70 yards in less than a minute on its next possession. Gesser hit Collin Henderson on a 15-yard touchdown pass, but the conversion pass failed and WSU led 19-14 with 37 seconds left.

Hawkins' 2-yard run lifted WSU to a 26-17 lead early in the third.
