PULLMAN, Wash. -- The Washington State women's golf team captured its
second straight top 5 finish by placing fifth at the Brigham Young
Invitational at the Hobble Creek Golf Course in Springville, Utah.
Junior Jennifer Dodd (77-79-77---233), sophomore Tasha Browner
(78-77-82---237), and senior Jenny Ballou (81-81-76---238) all finished in
the top 25 individually. Dodd's 13th place effort paced the Cougars.
The University of Texas-El Paso (306-299-310---915) captured the team
title,
finishing 14 strokes ahead of runner-up California (325-301-303---929).
Tournament host Brigham Young (308-320-306---934) placed third, 5 shots
ahead of Hawaii (314-312-313---939) and 13 shots ahead of fifth place
Washington State (314-316-317---947).
UTEP's Kristen MacLaren grabbed top individual honors, finishing with a
six-over-par 222.
UP NEXT: The Cougar women travel to Eugene, Ore. to play in the Oregon
Invitational.
