A graduate of Washington State University, Jason Krump is in his 16th year at the Washington State Athletic Department.
Krump oversees the communication initiatives for the Cougar Athletic Fund, including social media.
Earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism from WSU in 1993, Krump returned to WSU in September of 2000 to work in the athletic media relations office. While there, Krump served as the primary media contact for a variety of sports, including women’s basketball, rowing, and men’s and women’s golf.
He transitioned to his current position in 2006 serving in a variety of roles, including developing, implementing and supervising communication plans for the Athletic Department and initiating the department’s social media efforts.
After graduating from WSU, Krump, a native of Yakima, Wash., worked two seasons for the Continental Basketball Association’s Yakima Sun Kings where he was a member of the 1995 CBA Championship team’s front office staff.
Krump earned his master’s degree in physical education from Eastern Washington University in 2000. He has worked on the media relations staff at the PGA Championship (2001-12, ‘14, ’16), Ryder Cup (2008, ’12, ‘14, ’16), 2015 U.S. Open, and the Kentucky Derby (2002-07).
Krump lives in Pullman with his cat, Daisy.
