Taylor Lucas begins his first season on Jimmy Rogers staff as the Cougars offensive line coach after serving as the assistant offensive line coach for Rogers last season as South Dakota State.
 
Last season, Lucas served as the Jackrabbits assistant offensive line coach for a unit that finished third nationally in rushing offense at 236.1 ypg and fourth in scoring at 36.7 ppg. Lucas helped mentor a pair of All-Americans in center Gus Miller and guard Evan Beerntsen.
 
Prior to South Dakota State, Lucas spent two seasons at Wyoming, serving as assistant offensive line coach. During the 2022 season, he coached four All-Mountain West offensive linemen as well as Freshman All-American Emmanuel Pregnon as the Cowboys went 7-6 and reached the Arizona Bowl. The following season, Lucas coached two All-Mountain West linemen as the team went 9-4 and captured the Arizona Bowl in head coach’s Craig Bohl’s final game.
 
Lucas spent the 2021 season as the offensive line coach at his alma mater, Wisconsin-Stevens Point. He returned to UWSP after spending the prior three years at DII Saint Anselm.  There, he was the offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator. While with the Hawks, he coached a pair of all-conference selections.  He also helped Saint Anselm to its first three-game win streak in 2019, the first such streak in five years.
 
Prior to that, Lucas spent two years at Carroll University where he was an assistant football coach for tight ends and fullbacks.  He also assisted the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.
 
Lucas spent the spring semester of 2016 assisting UWSP with game day operations while assisting the football staff.
 
He was a four-year starter on the offensive line for the Pointers from 2012 to 2015.  Lucas was the first two-time Academic All-America selection in the UWSP football history, earning the honor in 2014 and 2015.  He was a three-time recipient of Academic All-District laurels.
 
Lucas was a team captain for UWSP in 2015 after helping the Pointers’ offensive line pave the way for 14 rushing touchdowns in 2014.  The Pointers were ranked and averaged 114.8 yards per game in 2014.
 
Lucas graduated from UWSP in December 2015 with a degree in business administration.  He completed his MBA at Carroll in 2018.
