Trang Huynh

Former Cougar tennis standout Trang Huynh is in her third season as assistant coach with the WSU Tennis program after returning to her alma mater in 2018.  Huynh was instrumental in the team’s run to the 2019 NCAA Championships, helping mentor a Cougar squad that featured four underclassmen in the lineup.

Huynh assists Head Coach Lisa Hart in all aspects of the program, with an emphasis on recruiting, which has resulted in WSU signing some of the top recruits in program history over the past three years. During her time, WSU has been nationally ranked in each of her first two seasons, including a program-best No. 15 in 2018.

Huynh returned to Pullman following two seasons as the assistant coach at Northern Illinois University where she also obtained her master’s degree in management information systems.

In her lone year as a Cougar student-athlete after transferring from Troy University prior to the 2015-16 season, Huynh posted a 32-16 singles record, the 32 singles wins tied for the third-most in WSU single season history. She opened the 2016 dual match season with 14-straight wins while also clinching a team-best six victories. She also posted 22 doubles victories and capped her season by being named an ITA Scholar-Athlete.

Huynh graduated from WSU with a degree in psychology and a biology minor.
