Brian Busch was named the coordinator of operations for the Washington State University women’s soccer team in July 2015.
A native of San Diego, Busch is responsible for team travel, camps, and gameday operations. In his first season with the Cougars, Busch oversaw the development of the Cougar Soccer Academy, a weekly youth program where local children can receive coaching from the WSU staff and student-athletes. Busch also helped to reestablish the Cougar Elite Residential Camp for the coming summer.
Prior to arriving at Washington State, Busch acted as an assistant coach at the distinguished Torrey Pines High School, guiding the program to nine-consecutive division championships. In Busch’s 12 years with the team, Torrey Pines lost just six matches.
Busch spent time with the Sereno Soccer Club in Phoenix, acting as the assistant college director while coaching several youth girls’ teams. Busch also worked under the director of operations with the Sereno Soccer Club, developing travel schedules and team itineraries.
In 2009 and 2010, Busch participated as a staff member at the U.S. Soccer U-14 and U-15 National Camp alongside current WSU assistant coach Sandy Davidson. Busch also has experience coaching and playing in the Olympic Development Program.
Busch graduated from Cal State San Marcos with a bachelor’s degree in human development and an emphasis in counseling and coaching. He played three years of collegiate soccer at the NAIA level at Alliant International University and the University of Saint Mary (Kan.).
