WSU CAREER: As a JUNIOR (2016-17), rowed with the third varsity eight as the Cougars swept Oregon State for an eighth-straight Winchell Cup…helped the third varsity eight to a third place finish in the ‘B’ Final at the Clemson Invite, placing her crew in 10th place and team fourth overall…rowed with the third varsity eight at Pac-12 Championships, helped WSU secure a top-four finish for the third straight year…as a SOPHOMORE (2015-16), opened the season at No. 19 Gonzaga in the fourth varsity eight, and defeated the Bulldogs by seven seconds…rowed with the third varsity eight ‘B’ against Oregon State…the Cougars swept the Beavers for a seventh-straight Winchell Cup win…as a FRESHMAN (2014-15), competed with the novice eight crew in the spring.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Competed in basketball and rowing at Holy Names Academy at Seattle...in 2010-11, helped women’s basketball team to a 3A WIAA State Championship…named most improved rower with 2013 Spring Experienced Crew at Holy Names Academy.
 
PERSONAL: Born Mahal Johnson, July of 1996 at Seattle…father, Wayne, played football at Washington State and mother Carolyn…brother Wayne Jr…enjoys baking, yoga and spending time with family and friends…member of National Honor Society and was a Sport and Spirit Officer…majoring in kinesiology.
