Graduate Student (2023-24)
Raced in the Varsity 8 boat in nine of the 10 events for the Cougs this season ... helped the 1V8 to two first-place finishes and three second-place finishes during the year … named 2024 CRCA All-American, Pac-12 All Conference, and CRCA Scholar-Athlete.

Fifth Year (2022-23)
Joined the Cougars at the start of the spring semester … Competed in five regattas for WSU, all in the First Varsity Eight boat … Helped Washington State capture the Fawley Cup against Gonzaga with a win in the First Varsity Eight race … Guided WSU to a second-place finish in the Jessop-Whittier Cup B Final at the San Diego Crew Classic … Rowed with the First Varsity Eight at the Lake Wheeler Invitational, where she helped the Cougars finish second with a time of 6:44.282 … Competed with the First Varsity Eight at the 2023 Pac-12 Rowing Championships, where the Cougs finished sixth in the 1V8+ race with a time of 6:32.410.


Prior to WSU

University of Calgary
Eliza Dawson comes to Pullman as a graduate transfer from the University of Calgary in Alberta. She was Calgary's Rookie of the Year in 2019 and was named the school's Female Athlete of the Year in 2021. Prior to the University of Calgary, Dawson attended J. Lloyd Crowe Secondary School in Trail, British Columbia. At Calgary, Dawson has helped the Dinos take first place in the B final at the 2021 Canadian University Rowing Championships and helped her school to a gold medal finish at the 2021 Head of the Charles in the collegiate 4+ race. She played basketball, volleyball, and bowling in high school.


Personal
Dawson is the daughter of Keith and Karen Dawson. She was born on April 6 in Trail, British Columbia. She has one older sister, Emily, and one younger brother Izack. She intends to major in Kinesiology at Washington State.
