SOPHOMORE (2019): Enrolled early in January and participated in spring practice...appeared in 11 games, one as a starter…recorded seven tackles and four pass breakups…made first career start in win over Northern Colorado…made one stop against UCLA…recorded a tackle and a pass breakup at Utah…made one tackle at Oregon…tallied four tackles and two pass breakups against Stanford…recorded a pass breakup at Washington.

JUNIOR COLLEGE 
FRESHMAN (2018): Attended San Francisco City College…appeared in 11 games, made 30 tackles with four pass breakups and one interception…rated three-star prospect by ESPN.com and 247sports.com…rated No. 14 JUCO cornerback prospect in the country by 247sports.com…will enroll at WSU in January, 2019 and have four years to play three seasons.

Attended El Cerrito High School…two-time All-Tri-County first-team selection…named All-Bay Area honorable mention as a SENIOR…four-year letterwinner in basketball, named All-Tri-County first-team in basketball as a senior.
 
PERSONAL
Born in Berkeley, Calif…parents, Derrick Sr. and Malikia…dad, Derrick Sr. was an outfielder at Contra Costa College, drafted in 52^nd round of 1994 MLB Draft by the Atlanta Braves, went on to play minor league baseball in the Atlanta Braves and Arizona Diamondbacks organizations…favorite athlete is LeBron James…chose WSU because of the environment and football program.
