Mark Rypien Featured on Cougar Athletic Fund Website

Cougar football legend and Super Bowl XXVI MVP Mark Rypien is featured on the Cougar Athletic Fund website.

Rypien delivered the keynote address at the August Cougar Sports Banquet at the Coeur d'Alene Resort. Rypien informed the audience how opposing teams hated coming to Pullman, and his message to the attendees was to go out and spread the word, and fill Martin Stadium this season.

Also in the story, Rypien discusses the developments to Martin Stadium and endowing a scholarship, the Bob Rypien Family Endowed Athletic Scholarship, established in 1993 in his father's name.

In addition to giving back with the scholarship, Rypien gives back with the Rypien Foundation, a foundation created to assist and provide hope for families who are battling childhood cancer in the Inland Northwest.

Coming off Saturday's come-from-behind win at Utah, the Cougars return to Martin Stadium for their Homecoming game against California, Saturday, Oct. 4. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. In what has become an annual Homecoming tradition, fans can vote on the uniform the Cougars will wear for the game.

The Cougar Athletic Fund, the fundraising arm of the Washington State University Athletic Department, is committed to covering the annual cost of student-athlete scholarships through private, philanthropic support. The support of Cougar Athletic Fund members enable young men and women to come to Pullman and earn a degree while competing in the Pac-12 Conference.
