Randall Dickey, an assistant coach with Paul Graham for six seasons at Oklahoma State University (1993-99), enters his fourth season as an assistant to Graham at Washington State University.

His duties at WSU include on the floor coaching, scouting, and game plan implementation. Dickey was instrumental in the Cougars 2000 recruiting class ranked as high as 28th in the nation by college basketball recruiting expert Bob Gibbons. The class was ranked 37th in the country by Clark Francis of Hoop Scoop and in the top 40 nationally by several other experts. Francis also ranked the 2000 junior college class as the fifth best in the country.

Dickey joined the Oklahoma State staff for the 1993-94 season as an administrative assistant where he aided head coach Eddie Sutton in scouting and game preparation, as well as with NCAA rules and eligibility requirements.

He was elevated to an assistant coach in the 1994-95 season and helped guide the Cowboys to the 1995 Final Four. During his tenure in Stillwater, he helped develop Bryant "Big Country" Reeves, Adrian Peterson, Randy Rutherford and Brooks Thompson into all-conference players.

Dickey's success in the college ranks dates back over a decade to 1991 as an assistant coach at Howard College in Big Spring, Texas. That season, Howard earned a number one national ranking and finished with a 32-2 record.

During the 1991-92 and 1992-93 seasons, Dickey was an assistant at Midland College (Midland, Texas), where he helped coach the team to a record of 43-17 over two seasons.

After graduating from Ouachita Baptist with a bachelor's degree in education in 1983, Dickey immediately began his coaching career at Lakeside High School in Hot Springs, Ark. He served as the head coached there for one season before moving on to Morrilton High School in Morrilton, Ark.

Dickey, 42, was a three-year starter on the basketball team at Ouachita Baptist and earned All-Arkansas honorable mention in 1982 and 1983 and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) District 17 honorable mention honors in 1983. A 1978 graduate of Valley Springs High School in Valley Springs, Ark., Dickey was an All-State basketball player and an all-conference baseball selection.

Dickey was born in Harrison, Ark., and is a native of Valley Springs, Ark. He is married to the former Ginny Jones. The couple celebrated the birth of their first child, Emily in June 1998 and, son Jackson was born in August 2000. Dickey's hobbies include playing golf, hunting and fishing.
