PULLMAN, Wash.- Senior forward/center Alke Dietel, who led the Washington State women's basketball team with 13.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, has named to the GTE Academic All-America's second team in District VIII.
Dietel, who posted a 3.58 grade point average in humanities, earned third team district honors last season as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Dietel finished with 926 points, 13th all-time at WSU and 99 three-point field goal, seventh on the Cougars' career list.
The Halle, Germany native will graduate in May.
