MENIFEE, Calif. - Jenny Ballou (Portland, Ore.) led the Cougars on the
opening day of the Pioneer Electronic Bruin Classic. Ballou, tied for
11th after one day, played a steady round shooting a 36-37--73 at the
par-72 Menefee Lakes Country Club.
Through one round of play, Washington State is currently in eighth place
with a team total of 304. Pepperdine is currently leading the tournament
with a team score of 288,which is even par. Nine strokes separates
second place California and eighth place WSU.
Jennifer Dodd (Portland, Ore.), Tasha Browner (Tarzana, Calif.) and
Donna Bell (Prince George, B.C.) are all currently tied for 33rd with a
first-round score of 77.
Lindsey Wright and Jenny Glasgow of Pepperdine each shot first-round
scores of 33-37--70 to tie for the lead a 2-under-par.
