Academic Services August Student-Athletes of the Month

PULLMAN, Wash. (September 17, 2025) – Washington State cross country's Nicole Bissell and Grayson Wilcott were each named the Academic Services Student-Athletes of the Month for August 2025.

Bissell, a junior from Spokane Valley, Wash., owns a 3.83 GPA while majoring in public relations and broadcast news along with a minor in sport management. Bissell has volunteered as a WSU Peer Academic Counselor for incoming students and been a part of the WSU SAAC. Last season, Bissell competed in six meets, finished second in the WSU Alumni Open, was 20th in the West Coast Conference Championships and qualified for the NCAA West Regionals where she ran a personal best 20:35.2. Bissell opened the 2025 season placing third at the Cougar Classic.

Wilcott, a senior from Kennewick, Wash., owns a 3.21 GPA while majoring in marketing and has volunteered as a WSU Peer Academic Counselor for incoming students. Last season, Wilcott competed in five meets, finished sixth in the WSU Alumni Open and seventh in the men's 1500m at the Cougar Classic. Wilcott opened the 2025 fall finishing fifth at the WSU Alumni Open.
