Academic Services December Student-Athletes of the Month

PULLMAN, Wash. (January 21, 2026) – Washington State women's basketball's Alex Covill and men's basketball's Parker Gerrits were each named the Academic Services Student-Athletes of the Month for December 2025.
Covill, a junior center, owns a 3.89 GPA while majoring in human development. The Missoula, Mont. native is a member of WSU's SAAC, volunteered in the community service events around the Pullman area and earned West Coast Conference All-Academic Honorable Mention. Last season, Covill led the WCC with 2.1 blocks-per-game and was third with 58 blocks. This season, Covill is averaging career-highs of 11.3 ppg and 4.4 rpg highlighted by career-highs of 26 points and seven blocks in the win at Seattle U.
Gerrits, a redshirt-sophomore guard, owns a 3.75 GPA while majoring in finance, is a member of WSU SAAC and has participated in many WSU career development opportunities including financial literacy, resume workshops, mock job interviews and networking events. The Olympia, Wash. native has appeared in 20 games, scored seven points at Davidson, hit a three in games against Washington and Arizona State, played a season-high 22 minutes against Seton Hall and has five points against Nevada.
