Soccer’s Studer Earns Preseason All-WCC Honors

| By:
SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Washington State women's soccer senior Jenna Studer was named to the All-West Coast Conference Preseason Team, the Conference announced last Thursday. The Cougar team was voted fifth in the annual WCC Preseason Coaches, while nationally-ranked Santa Clara was selected to win the conference.

Studer, in her sixth collegiate season, is expected to start in the Cougars' defensive line. The California native started all 19 matches for the Cougs last season, going a full 90 minutes in all but one match to complete the season with 1,697 minutes played out of 1,710 minutes possible.

Studer scored the opening goal in a 2-1 win over Idaho (Aug. 25) and the opening goal in a 1-1 draw with UC Irvine (Sept. 5). The sixth-year senior delivered her lone assist of the season from the backline in season-finale win over Pacific (Nov. 9), serving the quickest goal of the year (42 seconds) to Raniyah Burton for the game-winner.

The WCC preseason poll and the all-conference preseason team were selected solely by a vote of the conference's 12 head coaches. Coaches could not vote for their own teams and student-athletes.
