Academic Services December Student-Athletes of the Month

PULLMAN, Wash. (January 6, 2025) – Washington State rowing's Bella Jachymek and women's basketball's Tara Wallack were each named the Academic Services Student-Athletes of the Month for December 2024.

Jachymek is a senior from Toronto, Canada who owns a 3.82 GPA while majoring in economics, policy and law and is a two-time CRCA Scholar-Athlete and 2023 Pac-12 Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll selection. Jachymek represents the rowing program on the WSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and is a Pac counselor. This past fall, Jachymek helped the JV 8+ to a win over Washington and Gonzaga at the Head of the Lake Cap.

Wallack is a senior from South Surrey, Canada who owns a 3.57 GPA while majoring in advertising and is a two-time Pac-12 Winter Academic Honor Roll selection. Wallack represents the women's basketball team on the WSU SAAC and has helped the Cougars to a nonconference win over Virginia and an 8-2 start to West Coast Conference play. Wallack has appeared in over 100 games, has scored over 1,000 points, recorded 100 blocks and 500 rebounds, and dished out over 100 assists.
