LOWELL, Ore. – The No. 19-ranked Washington State rowing team finished sixth overall at the 2022 Pac-12 Women's Rowing Championships.
The Cougars collected 10.5 points to place sixth at the 2022 Pac-12 Women's Rowing Championships, which took place for the first time at Dexter Lake in Lowell, Oregon.
WSU opened the scoring by placing fifth in a thrilling Third Varsity Eight race. The No. 19 Cougars clocked in at 6:52.710 to finish 0.29 seconds ahead of UCLA to capture 1.5 points.
Washington State added six more points to its team total from the Varsity Four and Second Varsity Eight boats, as the Cougars finished sixth in each race.
The Cougs were on the heels of No. 13 Oregon State in the Varsity Four race, but WSU couldn't pass the Beavers down the stretching, finishing just 0.931 seconds behind OSU to finish sixth. Washington State's varsity four boat posted a time of 7:22.319.
The No. 19-ranked Cougars were involved in an even closer race in the Second Varsity Eight. WSU finished 0.683 seconds behind No. 15 Southern California to take sixth overall with a time of 6:40.719.
Washington State capped off the 2022 Pac-12 Women's Rowing Championships with a seventh-place finish in the First Varsity Eight race with a time of 6:34.518. WSU opened the regatta by finishing fourth in the Novice Eight race, clocking in at 7:31.590.
Stanford won the 2022 Pac-12 Women's Rowing Championships to end Washington's four-year run as conference champs. The Cardinal defeated the Huskies by 2.5 points, as Stanford won three of the four scoring races.
