Johnsen Kicks Off the Indoor Track and Field Season this Saturday in Boston

BOSTON - The Washington State track and field team will kick off its 2021-22 indoor season this Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston, Massachusetts.

WSU will be sending fifth-year senior Colton Johnsen to compete in the men's 5000m. The race begins at approximately 3 p.m. PT this Saturday. This is the first time a Cougar track and field athlete will compete at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, which will be held at Boston University's track and tennis center.

The last time Johnsen competed for Washington State came back at the 2021 NCAA Indoor Championships, where he recorded a time of 14:01.86 and placed 15th overall. His best finish in either an outdoor or indoor 5000m race came at the 2021 Pac-12 Outdoor Track and Field Championships, where he finished with a time of 13:39.54 to place fifth overall.
