You transferred in to the school in January from Texas Tech where you and your teammates had a lot of success in your own right, what made you choose WSU when you were decided to transfer?Â
"When I decided to transfer Jon (Harvey) and Todd (Shulenberger) reached out to me and expressed their interest in me coming to WSU for my final year. Todd recruited me when he was at Texas Tech and that was a factor in choosing to come to WSU. Seeing what Todd and the staff have accomplished with their program over the last few years made it an easy decision for me. The team has been very welcoming to me and I look forward to the upcoming season."
You're from Ontario, what has the last few months been like for you in Canada?
"It has been interesting. I have been stuck at home as the province has been locked down except for the essentials. But, now we are starting to reopen with restrictions and hopefully we can go back to normal soon. It has been good spending more time with family though. This virus has brought up the value of family and I hope that we can always remember and appreciate the little things."
To say the least it's been a weird start to your year at WSU with the semester closing down midway through. What have you done to stay engaged with the team and getting ready for hopefully the 2020 season?
"As a team we have been having Zoom meetings every week and I have been staying in contact with some of my teammates. I have been working out to stay in shape and to do as much soccer related activities I can with the circumstances. I hope the we can train together soon and prepare as a team for the season."
Outside of soccer/school stuff, what's a day in your life look like these days?
"My days usually consist of eating breakfast, then do a workout. I would mix strength and conditioning with some soccer activities to keep things different everyday. It has brought out my creative side because I do not have a gym or weights that I can use so finding things around the house to use has been fun. I have a 2-year old chocolate lab and she has a lot of energy so I've been taking her on two walks a day. I am taking summer courses online so I would work on my classes and then watch some Netflix. I have been trying to cook some new recipes for dinner so it has been fun."Â
Being the newest keeper, how would you describe yourself on the field? What can Coug fans look forward to this coming season?
"I would describe myself as a good shot stopper and will do anything to keep the ball out of the net. I am very comfortable with the ball at my feet so that I can support my teammates. Coug fans can look forward to an exciting experience watching our games. The talent and determination of our team will keep you at the edge of your seats."
You have one year at WSU, what do you hope to accomplish this season?
"I hope that I can help the team make another successful run this coming season and advance to the championships. I hope that my senior season would end in the best possible way it can and I cannot wait to get back and to start training again."
What are your plans for the future when your playing career comes to an end?
"My plans for right after playing collegiately would be to try and and play professionally. Once I am done playing soccer I would like to go back to school and become a nurse. I would like to either work in paediatrics or a flight nurse. The critical thinking skills and discipline from playing soccer will benefit me in these careers. I like to help people who need it the most especially during difficult times."
