WSU Academic Services Announces September Student-Athletes of the Month

| By:
PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State soccer's Hanna Goff and football's Dallas Hobbs have been named the Academic Services Student-Athletes of the Month for September 2019. The duo are the first student-athletes to earn the award in the new academic year.

A junior from Glendora, Calif., Goff has been a standout on the field and in the classroom for the Cougar soccer team. A member of the honors college, Goff is pursuing her degree in innovation and change in the department of Management, Information Systems, and Entrepreneurship. In her third year at WSU, Goff has kept a 3.77 GPA in the classroom while excelling on the field as one of the Cougars' starting centerbacks. Making the most of her time on the field, Goff scored a pair of goals to start the new season while leading the defense to three shutouts in four games. Off the field, Goff has been active among her fellow student-athletes by taking on a tutoring role during the summer bridge program and continuing her work into the new year. Her work in helping to educate her peers has an eye on her future as the junior hopes to one day run her own school by taking on the title of principal. Outside of WSU, Goff has been active in her church and youth groups and is always trying to find ways to meet new people and include people. Goff is the consummate teammate and friend, always putting the needs of others above herself.

An academic junior in the classroom and a redshirt-sophomore on the football field, Hobbs has made the most of his time at WSU as the Cedar Rapids, Iowa native sports a 3.81 GPA while studying digital technology and culture in the College of Arts and Sciences. Spreading his time among a handful of committees and activities while not on the field, Hobbs has been a PAC counselor for each of the last two years while also working as the creative director for the Black Student Athlete Association. His work in the classroom has earned Hobbs recognition on the President's honor roll while also working as part of the athletic department's strategic planning committee. He earned the emerging scholar award for the DTC while also working as a computer lab consultant in the AML and taking on an internship with the Cougar Athletic Fund. When finding time for himself, Hobbs is an avid photographer, graphic designer, and fisher.

Each month Washington State Academic Services will honor a male and female student-athlete that demonstrates commitment to academics while participating in their sport.
