PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State University Track and Field program saw three student-athletes named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District® 8 team Tuesday, as was announced by CoSIDA.
Kyler Little, a senior from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, earned himself a first-team selection, with a 4.00 grade point average, majoring in computer science and mathematics. Little competed in a handful of indoor meets, including the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships, running in the 3000-meter event where he posted a PR of 8:16.40. He went on to see tremendous success throughout the outdoor season in the 3000-meter steeplechase, recording a lifetime best in the event at the Oregon State High Performance Meet at 8:56.41 overall. Kyler placed sixth in the 3000 steeplechase at the Pac-12 Championships, qualifying for the NCAA West Region Preliminary, where he finished the season off with a time of 8:59.71 in the event. Â
Stacia Bell, a junior from White Salmon, Wash., was a second-team selection, with a 3.97 GPA, majoring in civil engineering. Bell saw action in six total meets during the indoor season, and posted a PR in the weight throw during the WSU Indoor at 53-feet 11 1/4 inches (16.44m). She went on to compete at the MPSF Championships in the weight throw as well, placing 22nd overall with a mark of 48-feet 1 3/4 inches (14.67m). During the outdoor season, Stacia again competed in six overall meets, where she posted a PR in the hammer throw during the Sam Adams Classic at 167-feet (50.91m).
Grace Victor, a senior from Wakerley, Australia, was also a second-team selection, with a 3.92 GPA, majoring in management information systems-economic sciences. Victor saw action in four total meets during the indoor track season, seeing her best performance at the MPSF Championships in the 800-meter run of 2:11.62. Grace went on to compete in five meets throughout the outdoor season, with her best run of the 800 at the Cougar Invite with a time of 2:11.95.
As a first team honoree, Little is now eligible for Google Cloud Academic All-America®. First-, second- and third-team (if necessary). Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early June.
