Elodie Bridenne's first team selection as announced by the conference office Thursday. In addition to Bridenne, senior
Madison Odiorne earned second team honors while junior
Marie Lund-Hansen and redshirt-sophomoreÂ
Emily Baumgart each picked up honorable mention status.
For Bridenne, her first team nod was the second-straight all-academic honor for the French import after picking up a second team award in 2017-18. Bridenne finished her third year at WSU with a 3.80 GPA in international business and finance to lead the team academically. On the course, Bridenne played in eight tournaments while posting a 77.33 stroke average.Â
In her final year of eligibility, Odiorne picked up her third-consecutive all-academic award after earning honorable mention status in each of the last two seasons. Graduating in May with a degree in sport science, Odiorne was one of 29 Cougar seniors to earn the Senior Excellence in Academics Award after posting a 3.55 GPA in her respective field of study. On the course, the senior posted her best season in the Crimson and Gray with a 74.97 stroke average in 10 tournaments.Â
Rounding out the Cougars' awards, Lund-Hansen earned her second-straight honorable mention award with a 3.30 GPA in public relations while Baumgart nabbed her first career academic award with a 3.05 GPA in marketing. The leader on the course, Lund-Hansen paced the Cougars with a career-best 73.70 stroke average which ranked fifth-best in WSU single-season history. For Baumgart, her second year on the course saw the Walla Walla, Wash. native play in all 10 tournaments for the Cougars while posting a 76.73 stroke average.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and participate in at least half of their team's scheduled regular season events.
