Luke Falk Picks Up National Honors

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State quarterback Luke Falk was named to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Watch List and also named the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week, announced Thursday.

The redshirt-junior was one of 15 quarterbacks listed on the Johnny Unitas Arm Award list. The award is presented at the end of each season since 1987 to the nation's top college quarterback, based on his accomplishments both on and off the field. Candidates must be a college senior or fourth-year junior on schedule to graduate with their class.

The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, December 9, in Baltimore, MD. For the 2016 Golden Arm Award ceremony, The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation, Inc. is happy to be returning to The Embassy Suites Baltimore Inner Harbor & Grand Historic Venue.

The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in honor of the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that includes the candidates' bowl performances in its balloting. Falk, already a member of the Manning Award watch list, won the Manning Award facebook voting contest after competing 30-of-41 passes for 357 yards and four touchdowns in Washington State's 41-16 victory at No. 15 Stanford. It was the Cougars first win at Stanford since 2007 and first win over a Top-15 team since 2003 (No. 5 Texas – Holiday Bowl).

Falk enters the week with a nation-best 74.1 completion percentage, four in passing yards per game (370.4) and seventh in passing touchdowns.
