Patrick Belony 2023 Headshot

Patrick Belony

Patrick Belony starts his first season on Head Coach Jake Dickert’s staff, beginning the 2023 season as a defensive graduate assistant.

Belony arrives in Pullman having spent the past two years in a similar role at his alma mater, Fresno State. There he worked directly with the defensive line, his former position group as a Bulldog.

Belony played collegiately at Fresno State from 2015-18, helping the Bulldogs to two bowl games and a conference title. The 2018 Mountain West Championship season was his finest, playing in all 14 games, including the conference championship game and the Las Vegas Bowl, and totaled 16 tackles with 2.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries. The 2018 Bulldogs finished the season with a 12-2 record, earning the most wins in a single-season in Fresno State history.

Belony was also a part of the Bulldogs’ 2017 Hawai’i Bowl victory over Houston. In 2017, Fresno State became the second program in FBS history to go from a double-digit loss season to a double-digit win season.

Prior to his time at Fresno State, Belony spent one season (2014) at Antelope Valley College.

Belony, a native of North Miami Beach, Florida, earned his undergraduate degree from Fresno State in communication. As a graduate assistant, he is working towards his master’s in education.
