Mitch Viger

Mitch Viger begins his second season as the Cougars defensive graduate assistant.

Viger spent the previous two seasons at Northern Illinois, working as the offensive quality control in 2017 before working as a defensive graduate assistant in 2018. Viger helped NIU to a pair of bowl games appearances, a 2018 MAC Conference Championship and saw the defense finish second in the country in sacks and third in rushing defense.

Prior to NIU, Viger worked as a graduate assistant at South Dakota State, spending the 2015 season as the special teams graduate assistant before moving to offense in 2016. Viger worked the 2014 season as an offensive graduate assistant at Harding University (DII) in Arkansas and the 2013 campaign at Crystal Lake South High School as an assistant coach.

Viger earned his bachelor’s degree from Illinois in 2013 and master’s degree from South Dakota State in 2016.
