Kolney Cassel begins his first season with the Washington State Football program working in a quality control position.
Cassel spent the last two seasons at Hawaii to play and work with the run-n-shoot offense under head coach Nick Rolovich. Cassel spent the 2019 season as a Warrior’s offensive graduate assistant and the 2018 season as a senior quarterback where he appeared in one game. Cassel battled injuries throughout his collegiate career while playing at Hawaii, Sacramento State and SMU. Prior to UH, Cassel played three seasons at Sacramento State where he appeared in seven games and threw three touchdowns during the 2015 season. Prior to Sacramento State, Cassel spent two seasons at SMU where redshirted the 2013 season and appeared in five games in 2014 where his collegiate debut came as a starter at Texas A&M.
Cassel is a native of Yakima, Wash. where he attended Eisenhower High School.
Cassel earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from Sacramento State in 2017 and began working towards a master’s degree at Hawaii in 2018.
