Former Cougar defensive lineman Kingston Fernandez returned to Pullman to begin his first season as Washington State’s Assistant Director of Football Operations.
Fernandez worked the 2021 season coaching the defensive line at Willamette University in Oregon.
Fernandez played five seasons at Washington State (2014-18), lettering twice and was a member of four straight bowl teams. The Kapolei, Hawaii native appeared in eight games on the 2016 Holiday Bowl team, played in four games on the 2017 Holiday Bowl team and capped his career with the 2018 team who set a school record with 11 wins and a win in the Alamo Bowl.
Fernandez played at Kapolei High School where he earned All-State honors as a senior, was named a team captain and rated the No. 2 overall prospect in Hawaii.
Fernandez graduated with his degree in social sciences from Washington State in 2019. Fernandez and his wife, Miranda reside in Pullman.
