A graduate of Tri-Cities Prep, where he lettered in five sports...earned four letters in both football and basketball, two letters in golf and one letter each in track and baseball...named National Elite 8-Man Player of the Year as a senior...also named Elite 8-Man All-America First Team and Pac-NW8 Player of the Year...named player of the year in 1B by the Associated Press, Washington Preps and the Seattle Times...also earned all-league and all-State honors as a sophomore and junior...holds 21 school records at his high school...set the national high school 8-man rushing record with 3,527 yards as a senior...also holds seven State all classification records...coached in football by Dan Whitsett, in basketball by Joe Perez, in golf by Craig Lunning, in track by Coach Hoover and in baseball by Coach McFenstry.
