PULLMAN, Wash. (Sept. 25, 2025) – During the Washington State home game against Toledo, Saturday, Oct. 25, Washington State Athletics will recognize the 10-year anniversary of the 2015 Sun Bowl-winning Cougar football team.
 
Led by Head Coach Mike Leach, the Cougars capped a 9-4 season with a 20-14 win over Miami to secure their first bowl victory since the 2003 Holiday Bowl 12 years prior. The nine wins were the most by a Cougar team since the 2003 season and included victories over Oregon, Arizona State, UCLA and Arizona.
 
In the Sun Bowl game, Luke Falk threw for 300 yards, Gabe Marks and Jamal Morrow each had five receptions and a touchdown catch, and the Cougar defense collected two interceptions and a fumble recovery to secure the win on a snowy El Paso afternoon.
 
Members of the 2015 team will be the honorary flag raisers for the game and also be recognized on the field during the game.
