Academic Services May Student-Athletes of the Month

PULLMAN, Wash. (June 6, 2025) – Washington State baseball's Logan Johnstone and track and field's Laura Lindquist were each named the Academic Services Student-Athletes of the Month for May 2025.

Johnstone, a redshirt-junior, produced a 3.43 GPA while graduating with a degree in finance and working towards his MBA. The Los Gatos, Calif. native earned All-Mountain West Conference first-team honors, becoming the first Cougar outfielder to earn first-team honors since WSU all-time home run leader Derek Jones earned All-Pac-12 first-team accolades since 2012. Johnstone finished the season hitting .337 with team-highs of 17 doubles, nine home runs and 17 multiple-hit games while his 40 RBI were second on the team. In conference play, Johnstone led the Cougars with a .387 average with 12 doubles, eight home runs and 27 RBI.

Lindquist, a senior, posted a 3.98 GPA while earning her criminal justice bachelor's degree and 3.77 while earning her master's in criminal justice along with a graphic design certificate. In early May, Lindquist won WSU's Steve Gleason Community Service Award after leading the athletic department in community service hours the past year. The Ogden, Utah native and transfer from UC Irvine qualified for her second-straight NCAA Championships after qualifying in the javelin where she finished No. 22.
