PULLMAN, Wash. (May 30, 2025) – Washington State men's golf's Ben Borgida and women's track and field's Sarah Kovich were each named the Academic Services Student-Athletes of the Month for April 2025.
 
Borgia, a redshirt-sophomore, owns a 3.94 GPA while majoring in biology while being involved with the WSU SAAC program while working towards his career goal of being a dentist. Borgia was named to the President's Honor Roll, was a West Coast Conference All-Academic Honorable Mention and last year was a College Sports Communications Academic All-District Team honoree. This past season, the Shoreline, Wash. native was third on the team with a 73.7 scoring average and posted three Top-25 finishes including a fifth-place finish at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational.
 
Kovich, a senior heptathlete from Bothell, Wash. has posted a 3.72 GPA while earning degrees in accounting and agricultural economics in the honors college. The former walk-on who earned a scholarship has worked as a peer academic counselor for incoming student-athletes, earned the SAAC True Cougar Award and served as the senior speaker during the senior luncheon. In April, Kovich finished second in the javelin in the Whitworth Jeffrahn Classic and eighth in the WSU Cougar Classic in the shotput, both were personal best times.
