Cougars Awarded Third Sweep of WCC Runners of the Week

PULLMAN, Wash. (Oct. 21, 2025) – Washington State sweeps WCC Cross Country Runners of the Week for the third time this season, the West Coast Conference announced Tuesday morning. Freshman Rosemary Longisa wins the award for the third time this season while sophomore Solomon Kipchoge wins it for the second time.
Longisa finished in third last weekend at the Nuttycombe inviational with a six-kilometer time of 19 minutes and 39.2 seconds. This time was only nine seconds off the first-place finisher. Longisa finished on the podium for the fourth time this season in as many races. She is the only female runner from the WCC to win more than one Runner of the Week awards this season.
Solomon Kipchoge finished second at the Nuttycombe with an outstanding eight-kilometer time of 23 mintues and 5.6 seconds. This is the third race this year Kipchoge has finished in second, and the fourth time he has been on the podium. Kipchoge has not finished lower than second at a race this season. Kipchoge is also the only runner on the men's side to win this award more than once this season.
The Cougs will compete next at the WCC Championships in Spokane, Washington, on November 1.
