Best in WSU History
June 01, 2023 | WSU Athletics
Dear Cougs,
The end of the academic year always provides us with the opportunity to reflect back on another year of amazing accomplishments by our student-athletes, coaches and staff. Once again, the 2022-2023 year can be categorized with the superlative, "Best in WSU history!" The bar of excellence continues to rise with all of our sport programs and our commitment to continuous improvement in the collective quest to reach our fullest potential continues to fuel our culture.
Just a few of our achievements this past year:
                    4 All-America honors
                    7 All-Region selections
                    34 All-Conference picks
                    146 Academic All-Conference selections
                    31 Academic All-District selections
                    2 Academic All-Americans
Our administrative team within the Department of Athletics continues to drive our mission forward. WSU Athletics will finish FY23 with another record-setting year in overall fundraising with more than $50M in total giving. Over the past five years, Athletics has raised a total of $155.3M (FY19-FY23), up from the previous five-year total of $57.3M (FY14-FY18). We also continue to see vast improvements in WSU Athletics' ticket sales in all five ticketed sports year-over-year (Football, Men's and Women's Basketball, Volleyball and Baseball).
So, what is in store for 2023-24? As shown by our student-athletes in recent years, our path will be filled with championships, highlights, joy and inspiration. Odds are we will be once again using, "Best in WSU history!"Â
We appreciate the unwavering support we receive from Cougs all over the world. Please enjoy the summer and rest assured, Ol' Crimson will be waving again on ESPN's College GameDay in just a few short months and we will be waiting to see you back home again in Pullman!
Go Cougs!
Â
Sincerely,

Patrick Chun
