PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State football's Max Borghi and women's volleyball's Magda Jehlarova have been named the Academic Services Student-Athletes of the Month for September 2021.

Cougar Football's star running back, Borghi has excelled both on and off the field. His help at the Idaho Soup Kitchen and retirement homes has not gone unnoticed. In addition to his work in the community, Borghi also spends time helping put on football camps and reading to elementary school kids. On the field, Borghi was the only player in the country named to the Doak Walker Award and Biletnikoff Award preseason watch lists. He was also named to the Preseason All-America Honorable Mention by PFF College as well the Preseason All-Pac-12 First Team.

Not only a top performer on the court, Jehlarova proved herself one of the top Cougars in the classroom as the junior posted a 3.78 GPA in Business Management HR. Jehlarova was named to the 2020-21 Fall Academic Honor Roll as well as the Spring 2021, Fall 2020, Spring 2020, Fall 2019 WSU President's Honor Roll. On the court, Jehlarova recently played with the Czech National Team at the CEV EuroVolley 2021 this summer, prior to the start of classes. She helped the Cougs to back-to-back tournament titles to close out non-conference play and was named to the Cougar Classic all-tournament team. Prior to the start of the year, Jehalorva was named to the Preseason All-Pac-12 Team.
