Inaugural Apple Cup Giving Challenge Kicks Off
November 24, 2019 | Football, WSU Athletics
PULLMAN, Wash. – In connection with this week's Apple Cup football game between Washington State and Washington, presented by Boeing, Friday, Nov. 29 at 1 p.m. in Seattle, the two schools' annual funds are battling as well in the 2019 Apple Cup Giving Challenge.
Â
From Monday, Nov. 25 through Wednesday, Nov. 27, each university will encourage fans, alumni and donors to give a gift of $25 or more to their respective athletic annual fund. The school with the most $25 or more gifts will be declared the winner.
Â
"This week is Apple Cup week and our Cougar Athletic Fund has challenged the annual athletic fund of that school on the west side in a week of giving," said WSU Director of Athletics Pat Chun. "We all know Cougs have the biggest hearts in this state and we know Cougs love to give. We are excited that we are going to put our best foot forward and we challenge all fans to give so we can Beat the Dawgs."
Â
While $25 is the minimum gift required, people who contribute more can receive special recognition from Cougar Athletics:
Cougar fans can become an ambassador HERE and win great prizes.
Â
All WSU donations made during the Apple Cup Giving Challenge will go to the Unleash Excellence Fund, which helps provide WSU student-athletes with the resources needed to unleash excellence in the classroom, on the field of competition, and in the community. All gifts made to the Unleash Excellence Fund are tax deductible and count toward your CAF membership level and points. Gifts to this challenge do not count toward any seat donation requirement for season tickets.
