PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University Director of Athletics Pat Chun announced the additions of new staff members recently. Mitch Straub has been named Senior Associate Athletic Director for the Cougar Athletic Fund while Domenica Jones has been named the Chief of Staff for Athletics Administration. Both have begun their duties for Cougar Athletics.
In addition to Straub and Jones, two other recent changes to the CAF staff include Raegen Harvey being promoted to Assistant Athletic Director of the CAF with oversight of all internal operations, and the hiring of recent WSU graduate Jake Stevens as CAF development assistant.
Mitch Straub Domenica Jones
"We are always proud to attract and retain some of the best talent to Washington State University," said Chun. "Mitch is one of the top athletic fundraisers in the country. He along with Raegan and Jake will play vital roles to the restructuring of our Cougar Athletic Fund. Domenica will assist in the operations of our administrative team."
Straub arrives in Pullman after spending the previous eight years at Ohio State University, progressing through the development department to his most recent position as assistant athletic director. While in Columbus, he was part of a team that brought in $209 million over the most recent three-year period, the most successful stretch in university history. He also cultivated and secured over $42 million in major gift commitments, including two lead gifts totaling $8.1 million to name Ohio State's Indoor Tennis Facility.
Additionally, he helped implement Ohio State's first Seat Selection Program, giving more than 16,000 season ticket holders complete transparency in selecting their football seats.
Prior to his work at Ohio State, Straub served as a development intern for the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) in 2009-10, which followed a one-year marketing internship at his alma mater, the University of New Mexico. While at UNM, he was a two-year letterwinner on the Lobo football team, and a two-time Mountain West Scholar-Athlete Award Winner and academic all-conference honoree.
Straub holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from New Mexico and a master's degree in business administration from Ohio State.
Jones has spent the previous four years at Florida Atlantic University, most recently as the athletics human resource manager. She also held positions of director of guest relations for FAU Stadium concurrently with the role of executive assistant to the athletic director and human resources coordinator.
She began her professional sports career with the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League, serving as a luxury suite assistant and game day operations. Jones also worked for Florida Citrus Sports, serving as a club suites assistant.
A 2014 graduate of Central Florida with a degree in interpersonal/organization communications, Jones recently received her MBA in sport management from Florida Atlantic University.
Raegan Harvey Jake Stevens
Harvey was recently elevated to assistant athletic director of the CAF after serving the previous year as the CAF Director of Internal Operations. She began working in the CAF in 2017 after four years working in development for the WSU Carson College of Business. Harvey graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in economics and received her MBA from the University of North Georgia.
Stevens worked as a student intern in the CAF during the 2017-18 academic year while completing his undergraduate work as a double major in international business and finance. His CAF duties include data and gift processing while also pursuing his master's degree in economics.
