Chandler Teigen earned All-Pac-12 First Team honors after his performance at the Pac-12 Cross Country Championships in Stanford, Calif. as was announced by the Pac-12 Conference office Tuesday. Â
Teigen, a senior from Anatone, Wash., placed seventh overall at the Pac-12 Championships, the highest Cougar finisher on the 8,000 meter course with a tme of 23:12.1. This was Chandler's second consecutive top ten finish at the Pac-12 Championships as well, coming in ninth overall a year ago.Â
Washington State finished fifth overall as a team in the Pac-12 Championships, seeing Teigen lead the way for the Cougars. Chandler continued to improve as the race progressed, moving up from 38th overall at the 1k mark, up to 24th place by the 2k checkpoint. Teigen only improved his standing from there as he jumped into the top ten at the 4k mark, and was able to keep pace at ninth overall at the 6k point. Chandler propelled himself at the end of this meet into seventh overall for his best finish at the Pac-12 Championships, and his best finish at a meet this season.Â

The top seven finishers at the Pac-12 Championships are named to the first team, the eighth through 14th finishers at the conference championships are named to the second team.

WSU will now prepare for the NCAA West Regionals, Friday, November 9, at the Haggin Oaks Golf Club in Sacramento, Calif.Â
