SAN FRANCISCO – Washington State quarterback
Luke Falk was named the Pac-12 Conference Offensive Player of the Week, conference commissioner Larry Scott announced Monday.
Falk earns his sixth career Pac-12 weekly accolade and second this season after throwing for 337 yards and three touchdowns while breaking the Pac-12 record for career passing yards in the 24-21 win over No. 18 Stanford. Falk passed Sean Mannion's (OSU) record of 13,600 on a short swing pass to
Jamal Morrow during the second quarter. Falk earned his seventh career fourth-quarter comeback victory and the first this season after leading the Cougars on an 11-play 94-yard scoring drive late in the fourth quarter, capped with an 11-yard touchdown pass to
Jamire Calvin with 6:56 remaining. The Cougar defense eventually clinched the win with an interception.
Falk earned his first weekly honor of the season after the win over Oregon State and his six career conference weekly awards are the most in program history.
Falk owns Pac-12 and WSU records for passing yards (13,806), total offense (13,453), pass completions (1,327), pass attempts (1,931) and 300-yard games (28). He enters the week second in Pac-12 history with 115 career touchdown passes, trailing only Matt Barkley's (USC) record of 116.
