Fan Enhancements in Place for 2016 Football Season
August 31, 2016 | Football
PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University Director of Athletics Bill Moos has announced a number of enhancements to the gameday experience for Cougar Football fans at Martin Stadium, beginning this weekend.
Â
"Coming off our Sun Bowl victory over Miami last December, and continuing throughout the spring and summer, there has been tremendous excitement building for the 2016 football season," said Moos. "As a staff we need to capitalize on that and provide our fans the best gameday experience possible and each year we add components that take us closer to this goal."
Â
Fans entering Martin Stadium this season will notice some obvious changes, including a new graphics package for the video and ribbon boards, pregame fireworks, new crimson seats for nearly 5,000 season ticket holders who are CAF members, along with an improved WSU Gameday Live App, giving users real-time updates, parking and traffic alerts, as well as information on gameday events pushed directly to your mobile device.
Â
"We are at an all-time high in season ticket sales and have an extremely attractive home schedule," Moos said. "We are entering the first of three consecutive years with seven home games for the first time in program history. Our coaches and players recognize the impact that a full Martin Stadium can have on the outcome of a game and I feel these additions will make Martin Stadium a tremendously difficult place to play for our opponents."
Â
Cougville will continue to be located within the footprint of Martin Stadium and provide pregame and halftime hospitality for Cougar fans, with a new layout for functionality and fan traffic flow, enhanced pregame radio content, exclusive fan giveaways and three games that will feature live music.
Â
The Cougar Prowl Walk, where fans meet the team upon arrival to Martin Stadium, is moving from the Cougar Pride Statue in the northeast corner of the stadium to Hollingbery Fieldhouse, beginning with Saturday's game. The team will now arrive on the north side of Hollingbery Fieldhouse two and a half hours before kickoff. They will be joined by the Cougar Marching Band and WSU Spirit Squads as they make their way through fans en route to the Cougar Football Complex.
Â
Season, mini-plan and individual game tickets are on sale now online at WSUCougars.com or by phone at 1-800-GO-COUGS.
