Aircraft Carrier Visit Highlights Day Three in Holiday Bowl Week

SAN DIEGO – The Washington State football team spent Saturday aboard the aircraft carrier USS America followed by another practice in preparation for the 2016 National Funding Holiday Bowl against Minnesota, Tuesday, Dec. 27.

Both the Cougars and Minnesota Golden Gophers toured the USS America, with Head Coach Mike Leach presenting the Navy's Brianna Waldroup with a Cougar jersey as she will serve as WSU's honorary captain during the Holiday Bowl.

The Cougars followed that with their third practice since arriving in San Diego.

Sunday's activities include a visit to the San Diego Zoo along with another practice at Mesa College.
Tuesday's Holiday Bowl against Minnesota is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start and will be televised by ESPN.
