Peyton Pelluer Named to District VIII All-Academic First Team

PULLMAN, Wash. -- Washington State University football student-athlete Peyton Pelluer was named to the 2016 District VIII All-Academic First Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), it was announced Thursday.
Pelluer, from Sammamish, Wash., is a second-time honoree as a redshirt junior, repeating from the 2015 season. The linebacker boasts a 3.43 GPA while majoring in history with an emphasis in secondary education. Pelluer leads Washington State in tackles (49) at 6.1 per game, which is tied for 21st in the Pac-12. The fourth-generation Cougar, whose father, grandfather, and great grandfather all played football for the Cougars, had a season-high 10 tackles in the opener against Eastern Washington. He also has five tackles-for loss, one sack, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery on the season.
The Cougars play host to Arizona Saturday at 1 p.m. from Martin Stadium in a game televised by the Pac-12 Network.
