Coached by Michael Walsh at San Pedro High, where he also competed in track...played both running back and defensive back...JUNIOR year earned academic All-State honors...second team all-league...SENIOR year was an all-league pick on both sides of the ball...MVP on league championship team...pre-season All-American...academic all-star...also selected to the Super Prep Far West team.

FRESHMAN (2002-02): Redshirt season.
RS-FRESHMAN (2002-03): Games - 4...Starts - 0...a member of all four special team units - punt, punt return, kickoff and kickoff return...some reserve action in the secondary...best game four tackles against Idaho and three against MSU...suffered a right hamstring strain and has not played in the last eight games...earned the following weekly team awards: Special Teams Big Play - Ohio State.
RS-SOPHOMORE (2003-04): V-Letter...Games - 13...Starts - 0...three tackles at Notre Dame and single tackles against Idaho, Colorado, New Mexico, Oregon and UCLA. Special Teams: Punts, punt returns, kickoffs, KO returns, on-side kickoffs
RS-JUNIOR (2004-05): V-letter...Games - 10...Starts - 10...earned the following weekly team awards: Pac-10 Defense - New Mexico. Special Teams: Punt Gunner, Kickoffs, KO Returns...ranked 6th in the Pac-10 in fumbles caused with 0.27/game...moved into a starting role in fall camp...made seven tackles, shared in one TFL, knocked down three passes, caused a fumble and made two interceptions at New Mexico in his starting debut...caused a fumble against Colorado...against Oregon made a career-high eight tackles, all solo stops...the next week against Stanford also had eight tackles, then five at Oregon State and two against USC...missed WSU's win at UCLA with a neck sprain; then came back with starts against ASU and Washington.
