WASHINGTON STATE NOTES

--Brandon Gibson set career-highs with eight catches and 130 receiving yards.

--California running back Marshawn Lynch eclipsed the 100-yard mark in the third quarter, just the second back this season to rush for over 100 yards against the WSU defense.

--Derrell Hutsona's 70-yard run in the third quarter was his longest of the season, eclipsing the 53-yard rush he had last week at Oregon State.

--The last time WSU was held without a touchdown was Nov. 18, 2000, a 51-3 loss against Washington.

--Eric Frampton's fourth-quarter interception was his third of the season...Frampton finished with 12 tackles (one shy of his career high), a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.

--California was 3-for-3 in the red zone, all touchdowns...entering today WSU had given up eight touchdowns (40 percent) and 14 scores (70 percent) in 20 opponent red zone possessions.

--WSU did not start a drive outside its 25-yard line through the first three quarters.

California Postgame Notes

- Marshawn Lynch registered a pair of first-half rushing touchdowns. He scored on a two-yard run to open the scoring and added an eight-yard run with 3:27 to go in the second quarter. The two scores give him nine touchdowns this season (six rushing and three receiving). He has 29 career touchdowns.

- Marshawn Lynch went over 100 rushing yards on his 12th carry of the game with 8:13 to go in the third quarter. He now has 14 career 100-yard games, tied for third all-time at Cal. Russell White and Chuck Muncie each had 15 in their Golden Bear careers.

- Senior Daymeion Hughes intercepted a Cougar pass in the second quarter. It was his sixth interception of the season and his 13th of the career, which moves him into second place by himself. The all-time leader is Ken Wiedemann, who had 16 from 1967-69.

- Senior defensive end Nu'u Tafisi blocked the Cougars' first punt of the game. It was Cal's first blocked punt since Nov. 5 of last season against Oregon when Thomas DeCoud blocked a Duck punt. It was Tafisi's second career blocked kick - the last one was a blocked field goal against Arizona on Oct. 1, 2005.

- Junior Robert Jordan caught five passes (for 51 yards) in the first half. Jordan's season-high was five catches (for a season-best 83 yards) against Arizona State.

- Quarterback Nate Longshore had a rushing touchdown for the second game in a row. He scored on a one-yard sneak in the first quarter to give the Bears a 14-0 lead.

- Sophomore Bernard Hicks snagged his second interception of the year with 8:54 to go in the third quarter. His first pickoff came last week against Oregon.

- On the first play from scrimmage, Marshawn Lynch broke free for a 42-yard run, his second-longest run of the year. Lynch injured his ankle in the first half of last week's Oregon game.

- Junior Brian De La Puente made his first career start, opening the game at right guard. He is the 14th different Golden Bear to make his starting debut this season.

- Junior safety Thomas DeCoud saw his first action since suffering a knee injury against Arizona State.
