WSU vs. Nevada Wolf Pack

Eric Frampton's first-quarter interception was the first of the year by a Cougar, the first of his career and the first Cougar interception returned for a touchdown since Pat Bennett went 28 yards against USC on Oct. 30, 2004.

Alex Brink's first six passes went to six different receivers, including an 18-yard touchdown to Troy Bienemann, the sixth of his Cougar career.

Washington State's second touchdown drive of the first quarter lasted just 59 seconds. In the third quarter WSU scored in 38 seconds (Brink to Hill), marking the fourth touchdown drive in two games this season that the Cougars have scored in under 1:00.

Jason Hill's 6-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter capped a 12-play, 99-yard drive that lasted 4:25. While WSU does not have records for longest drive, at the very least this would match the longest in school history.

Hill caught his second TD pass with 10:27 to play in the third quarter, giving him four TD receptions this year and 16 for his career...now tied with four others for fifth on the WSU career list, just six behind long-time record holder Hugh Campbell's 22 (1960-62).

Washington State held Nevada scoreless in the first half, leading 27-0 at the break. It was the first time the Cougar defense posted a first-half shutout since leading 28-0 against Idaho, Sept. 18, 2044.

With his 157 punt returns yards tonight, sophomore Michael Bumpus moved in 6th-place on all-time list with 576 yards. Bumpus' 87-yard TD return in the third quarter marked the third time in his 13-game career he has returned a punt for a touchdown. His three TD returns equals the WSU career record set by Mark Williams (1966-68), all in 1968.

Bumpus's 157 yards is the second most in a single game, just 10 yards behind Shawn Tims, who had 167 against ULL in 1997; his 87-yard TD return is the longest in WSU history, topping the record of 81 yards by Rick Reed against San Jose State in 1968 and by Mark Williams, also against San Jose State in 1968.

WSU's 55 points is the most since a 55-16 win at Oregon in 2003.

Jerome Harrison's 121 rushing yards against Nevada is his fifth straight 100 yard game. He had over 100 yards in each of the last three games of 2004 and had 165 in the opener against Idaho.

Last week against Idaho only four Cougars caught passes. Against Nevada eight players caught passes, six wide receivers, one tight end and one running back.
