Bridenne, Brown Lead Five Cougs On All-Academic Team

The Cougars duo were named to the second team.

SAN FRANCISCO – Washington State women's golf placed five on the Pac-12 All-Academic Team led by senior Alivia Brown and sophomore Elodie Bridenne taking home second team honors the conference office announced Monday. Additionally, three Cougars earned honorable mention status with sophomore Marie Lund-Hansen, junior Madison Odiorne, and senior Bree Wanderscheid rounding out the WSU's representatives.

Brown (Gig Harbor, Wash.) earned her third-consecutive all-academic award after being named honorable mention each of the last two seasons. Brown graduated earlier in the month with a degree in business management while posting a 3.60 GPA. Brown finished her career as the Cougars' all-time leader in scoring average at 73.79 including a record-breaking senior season at 72.79 that included her third trip to the NCAA Regionals.

In her first year of eligibility, Bridenne (Rennes Cedex, France) grabbed second team honors after maintaining a 3.69 GPA while still deciding on a major field of study. Bridenne played in seven tournaments on the year.

Lund-Hansen, Odiorne and Wanderscheid each earned honorable mention recognition from the conference. For Lund-Hansen, the award was her first in her first year eligible while Odiorne took home her second all-academic award after earning second-team honors last year and Wanderscheid earned her third career award.

Lund-Hansen (Aabenraa, Denmark) capped off a break out season on the course with recognition for her excellence in the classroom after posting a 3.29 GPA having yet to certify a major. Odiorne (Bend, Ore) finished her junior year with a 3.56 GPA in sport science while Wanderscheid (Goldendale, Wash.) earned her degree in sport management after posting a 3.23 GPA in her final year.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and participate in at least half of their team's scheduled regular season events.
